{"id":38,"date":"2011-02-01T19:32:00","date_gmt":"2011-02-01T19:32:00","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/www.communicationcoach.ca\/blog\/?p=38"},"modified":"2015-03-21T17:19:38","modified_gmt":"2015-03-21T21:19:38","slug":"ttc-recorded-voice-vs-live-person","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.communicationcoach.ca\/blog\/ttc-recorded-voice-vs-live-person\/","title":{"rendered":"TTC Recorded Voice vs. Live Person"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>If you take the <i><b>TTC<\/b><\/i> as often as I do, then you have heard both their recorded customer service announcements and you have also heard impromptu voices from the drivers of the trains.\u00a0 The recorded voices are professional, calm and informative.\u00a0 The loud speaker system doesn&#8217;t always work well unfortunately, but at least the voices are clear.<\/p>\n<p>On the other hand, I would say that 90% of the drivers who make announcements over the loud speaker should not be doing so, in the best interest of the company brand.\u00a0 Why?\u00a0 Because &#8211; simply put &#8211; they sound aggressive, and sometimes annoyed.\u00a0 (<i>On a side note &#8211; I wonder if they receive any type of public speaking training?)<\/i><\/p>\n<p>I bet they are annoyed at all the stupid questions they have to constantly and repeatedly answer all day, every day.\u00a0 I bet they have heard the same questions hundreds of times, and are tired of people asking.\u00a0 I bet they struggle with ESL issues on top of that.\u00a0 I bet they are annoyed at all the people who stay on a train or try to enter one even after the driver has repeated him\/herself 10 times <b><i>&#8220;This train is out of service.\u00a0 Please do not board this train.\u00a0 Once again this train is out of service &#8211;
